The defending player can prevent damage to their Planeswalkers the same way theyd prevent attacking creatures from dealing damage to them: by blocking the attack with their creatures or by using an instant-speed spell to remove the attacking creatures

Now of course, you have to have a five-cost character in your hand to cheat into play when you use this to make use of it, but if you build your deck right, or take advantage of card draw cards, youll be sure to have just the card you need
