An extraordinary hand embroidered silk bedcover dating from the 1920s, embroidered in Kashmir in India where the worlds most skilled embroiderers come from. This was probably made for the European market, either for export or for Europeans living in India. It is worked in gorgeous subdued coloured silks on a cream silk ground. This beautiful cover would fit a double bed but would also make a fabulous curtain, wall hanging or throw.
